Congratulations to our RAF Shawbury cyclists Reka and Sven, who successfully completed the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) Rides challenge at Kendrew Barracks.
Sven said: “I finished the 50-mile route in a little under three and a half hours and Reka went even further, completing the 75-mile route. We rode together from around the 20km point to the first feed stop at around 40km. Weather was great but windy and Kendrew Barracks is up on a hill, so there was no escape. It was a great experience and I’d love to do more if they become available.”
Reka agreed: “It was a really good day; we were lucky with the weather, however it was windy! The event was very well organised, and everyone was very helpful. I would definitely do it again.”
Ascent is delighted to support the Royal Air Forces Association and its work with veterans, through sponsorship of the RAFA Rides cycle event.
The rides are an annual fundraiser and take place at sites across the UK.
