The Ascent team were delighted to welcome the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, to the Duke of Cambridge building, as part of a wider visit to RAF Shawbury.
As part of the building tour, Mr Speaker was shown the Rear Crew Cabin and Winch Trainers, as well as the Virtual Reality and Command & Tactics Trainers, before taking the opportunity to fly a Juno Flight Training Device.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity, on the eve of the publication of the Defence Investment Plan, to brief Mr Speaker on the latest developments in helicopter flying training and the work carried out at Shawbury by Ascent and No 1 Flying Training School, as an integral part of the UK’s Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS).
