EDF Nuclear plays a significant role in supporting the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure, and Ascent has been working with its Hartlepool staff to deliver a bespoke Crew Resource Management (CRM) course.

The course, vital for businesses in safety critical industries, focuses on a range of topics including cognitive agility, mental performance, leadership, situational awareness and threat and error management.

The CRM course is the latest in a series of training courses, delivered both at EDF’s nuclear training facility in Heysham, and a further five weeks’ back-to-back training at EDF Hartlepool. Helping to improve safety at both sites.

As experts in the CRM field, the Ascent team brought a different safety perspective, which was warmly received. Mike Lees, Station Director, took time to meet with Ascent instructors Graeme Longmuir and Tim Croydon, to thank them for their professionalism and engagement. In total, 65 personnel were trained this autumn, including the Director of Training, shift managers and key safety personnel.
