As part of our continuing support of local communities near our sites, and to help improve the local environment and raise awareness of the impact of littering, members of Ascent’s RAF Cranwell management team volunteered to spend the afternoon picking up rubbish.
With the support of the local parish council, the team’s focus was to clear the road verges between the A17 and Cranwell village, adjacent to the RAF base. A significant amount of rubbish was removed from the verges, helping reduce pollution, protect local wildlife and improve the aesthetics of the local area. An added benefit was reducing the likelihood of foreign object debris (FOD) on the airfield.

We know that UKMFTS flying activity impacts the local area and have pledged to support local communities and to try to offset our environmental impact wherever possible. The project was also a great way to build team spirit and enhance physical and mental wellbeing.
