Supporting lifesaving missions

Ascent continues to support search and rescue in the UK, with our latest collaboration with Bristow Helicopters. Our aviation groundschool course is helping train a new cadre of cadet winch paramedics to support search and rescue missions.

The three-week course, delivered by Qualified Instructors at RAF Shawbury, provides a crucial foundation in aviation theory, which will be utilised during trainees’ flying careers in the airborne search and rescue environment.

The groundschool course has been designed specifically for Bristow, based on Ascent’s expertise in teaching military helicopter rear crew through UKMFTS.

This essential training for new technical crew aviators will help those involved in lifesaving operations work together safely, effectively and seamlessly, using the right technical language and knowledge to perform to the highest standards.
