It’s nearly time! Boxes are being packed and aircraft polished, ready for this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT).
Ascent will be bringing aircraft, pilots and trainees to Fairford for the much anticipated event. RIAT gives us a chance to meet with customers, colleagues and members of the general public, and share with them some of the fantastic things we are achieving with UKMFTS and as a growing business.
The Ascent/UKMFTS stand is in a slightly different location this year, as the TechnoZone expands, and we will be bringing along four training aircraft – the Texan, Phenom, Prefect and Juno. But Hawk fans are in for a treat, as the event is celebrating 50 years of the Hawk, and Hawks from around the world will be flying in to take part in aerial and static displays.
The event’s main theme this year is ‘Pushing the boundaries in air and space’ and other celebrations taking place, include 100 years of the Royal Canadian Air Force and 75 years of NATO.
Lockheed Martin’s F-16 Fighting Falcon is also celebrating it’s 50th birthday. Look out for Ascent MD, Tim James, taking part in some of the media events around this particular milestone, as a former F-16 pilot.
In our Meet the Trainees tent this year, VR headsets will give visitors a taste of our synthetic training, We also have a 1-minute introduction to Ascent video, that will play on big screens across the showfield during the three days. Here’s a sneak peek.
RIAT takes place from 19-21 July 2024 and we hope to see you there.
If you are not already following Ascent on social media, you’ll miss our regular updates, photos and video from the event. You can find us on LinkedIn, Facebook and X.
