First non-socially distanced graduation ceremony for Rotary Wing Aircrew

Congratulations to the latest graduates from No.1 Flying Training School, RAF Shawbury who have just completed their rotary wing training through UKMFTS.
23 Tri-Service aircrew including 11 Pilots (2 Royal Navy, 6 Army, and 3 RAF); 6 aircrewman (2 Royal Navy and, 4 Army) and 6 RAF Weapon System Operators graduated on Thursday 16th September. The Reviewing Officer for the graduation parade was Air Vice-Marshal Richard Maddison OBE MA RAF, Air Officer Commanding 22 Group.

This was a particularly special occasion as it was the first time since the start of the pandemic that families and friends of the graduates have been able to attend a graduation.
Also present was Group Captain Phil Wadlow, Commandant of No.1 Flying Training School and RAF Shawbury Station Commander, alongside instructors and staff from the School as well as a number of special guests.
