It was a pleasure to welcome Major General Clair A Gill to RAF Shawbury recently, to find out more about the rotary wing training Ascent provides.
Major General Gill is the Commanding General at the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Novosel in Alabama, and a former Deputy Director for Regional Operations and Force Management (J35) on the Joint Staff.
As part of his tour of the Shawbury facilities – one of Ascent’s two NATO Flight Training Europe accredited sites – Major General Gill had a chance to try out the rotary wing simulators with the team.
More than 38,000 hours have been flown on the Shawbury simulators to date, as part of UKMFTS training.
