Women in Defence UK is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2011 by former Army officer Angela Owen OBE. A network of around 20,000 individuals and 40 partners spans every level of the defence sector, sharing best practices and sparking innovative thinking. Annual awards recognise and celebrate exceptional people in defence, alongside a cross sector mentoring programme.

Leadership needs to be accountable for creating visible career pathways, strong succession planning, and ensuring women have access to opportunity, sponsorship and progression at every stage.
