As part of our community engagement, we were delighted to welcome students from Winterbourne Academy, in partnership with the Ablaze charity, to our Bristol Training Hub.
The young people had a tour of the building and a Teams call with our MD, before being set a practical aircraft/training task, with input from mentors and subject experts from across the business.
Feedback was really positive, with 100% of the students saying they had learned about careers and skills needed for work. One of the students said they had gained “more confidence asking questions”, while another said they wanted to “work here, so maybe lessons on how to do this.” A learning experience and a great day for all involved.
“The impact on each individual student really cannot be underestimated here,” said Ablaze Project Manager, Ceri Bowers. “I know what I saw was fantastic, and the comments from all the volunteers hopefully reflects that they all had an impactful day as well.”
