Head of Support & Services

We are delighted to introduce Martyn Templeton, our new Head of Support & Services. Martyn was previously Support & Services Manager at RAF Shawbury and joined Ascent in April 2023 from Collins Aerospace.

Martyn has spent 20 years working in aviation, beginning his career in the Civil Service, working for the MoD in various roles, including aircraft disposal. This led him to work with FB Heliservices from 2006, on the previous Defence Helicopter Flying School contract.

After four years working in the United Arab Emirates, as Technical Services Manager and later Production Planning Manager, for Falcon Aviation, Martyn returned to Shawbury. He joined Airbus Helicopters as MFTS Technical Services Manager in 2017, where he held an EASA Form 4 for as an Airworthiness Review Signatory and took on responsibility for the whole AHUK Continuing Airworthiness Management activities (civil and military).

After a brief time away – working as a Programme Manager in civil aerospace for Collins – Martyn returned to Shawbury as part of Ascent’s Support & Services re-structure.

Martyn takes up his new role from 2 December 2024. “I’m looking forward to building on the great work previously accomplished, following the Support & Services re-structure, and working to standardise the Support & Services Manager roles across the sites, whilst also striving to improve our Quality Management System as a whole, and its outputs throughout Ascent, ” he said.
