We are delighted to welcome trainees to the start of our 100th Elementary Flying Training class at RAF Cranwell.

The seven fixed wing trainees who will complete ‘Class 100’ stand at the very beginning of their journey to becoming military pilots. They are currently undergoing their common ground school phase, prior to commencement of the flying phase.

The trainees will receive around 60 hours of flying training on the Grob Prefect, made up of both live and synthetic instruction, before being streamed to fast jet, multi-engine or rotary.

Martyn Davison, Ascent Chief Qualified Instructor, said: “This represents a significant milestone in the delivery of flying training under UKMFTS from RAF Cranwell, from the first ab-initio flying course back in 2018, to the full range of military flying training delivery we see being delivered today.

“A world-class training system and exciting military flying career awaits the trainees of Class 100.”

Good luck to Class 100 from all at Ascent.
