As the Training Scheduler you will be part of an experienced and dedicated scheduling team covering 2 busy flying training delivery sites.

A day in the life of an Ascent Training Scheduler (Maternity Cover)

As Training Scheduler you will be part of an experienced and dedicated scheduling team covering 2 busy flying training delivery sites. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, customer focused and has strong attention to detail.  You will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and be able to build relationships with stakeholders across all areas of the business, ensuring the safe and efficient scheduling of all training delivery from one of 2 busy UKMFTS training units via a Training Management Information System (TMIS).

You will:

  • Be an integral part of the training delivery cycle from the training delivery sites
  • Use TMIS to capture and process multiple inputs and requests from a variety of military and civilian sources.
  • Be responsible for the production of a safe, optimised and integrated, flying and ground training schedule for the UK Military Flight Training Systems (UKMFTS) covering Elementary and Multi Engine flying training that incorporates a range of competing priorities, rules, regulations and resource constraints
  • Manage the in-day delivery of the daily flying programme including reacting to last minute changes in resources, weather and priorities
  • Assist the Training Manager in accurate tracking and the timely and efficient progression of all students on the appropriate training syllabus
  • Produce and analyse periodic statistics for onward distribution to HQ and the Station Executive team

 


 

What will make you successful?

You will already have experience working within a demanding and dynamic environment with changing and conflicting and competing priorities, and you will thrive working under pressure and relish engaging with stakeholders and customers at all levels

You will be a team player, a natural problem solver with strong analytical skills and you will enjoy working in an environment where you are required to navigate both yourself and stakeholders to a positive and efficient solution

You will understand the importance of safety and being customer focused, and able to work successfully to a timeline often in pressurized situations

You will also be confident using computer programmes such as Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and Explore

It would be great, however not essential if:

  • You have experience of working within a military aviation environment or alternatively experience within aviation, operations or Air Traffic Control
  • You have previous experience of a computer Information/Training Management system or experience of scheduling of demanding training activity programme
