Last week saw the first student to get airborne in a Jupiter aircraft. As part of UKMFTS’ first Royal Navy Rear Crew Course, the sortie got airborne from 202 Sqn at RAF Valley with an all Ascent staff crew.
405 Course is delivering Medium to Low Level navigation training to Royal Navy Observers destined for the Merlin Mk2 and Royal Navy Wildcat. There are currently 9 Royal Navy Observers undergoing Rotary Wing Training on 202 Sqn at RAF Valley under the new Rotary Wing element of UKMFTS
Both aircrew delivering the training are both Ex Royal Navy Instructors and were both A2 Instructors with the Commando Helicopter Force based at RNAS Yeovilton
Huge congratulations to all those involved, another step forward in growing to full Rotary wing delivery
