Fast Jet Phase IV

The UKMFTS Fast Jet training service at RAF Valley has been training ab-initio and instructor students for 2½ years and is regarded as being at the forefront of global fast jet training.  Utilising the latest variant of the Hawk training aircraft (known as the Hawk T2 for UKMFTS), supported by the latest ground based training equipment in the form of full mission simulators, flying training devices and desk top trainers, the training system has successfully graduated 16 ab-initio students to the various Typhoon and Tornado Operational Conversion Units, and Royal Navy plus 48 ground and flying instructor students to maintain the training output.  It is intended for the service to increase its training capacity over the next few years as the number of students builds.
