Ascent staff, Paul Wright and Danny Hanks delivered a STEM event at RAF Valley as part of our initiative to support the Jon Egging Trust, which was set up in memory of Red Arrows pilot Jon Egging who tragically lost his life at the Bournemouth Air Festival. The Jon Egging Trust realises Jon’s dream of inspiring young people through his love of aviation, teamwork and leadership, helping them to overcome adversity, identify their strengths and work towards their ambitions.
An excited group of children from Treffos School on Anglesey enjoyed JET/STEM activities designed to develop High Performing Teamwork skills. After a group discussion on teamwork, the children were tasked in teams to design and build a wheelbarrow to simulate carrying a water bladder over contaminated ground accurately and within a defined
timescale. All teams achieved the task with great enthusiasm, and they finished their visit with a group photo in front of one of our new fleet of Texan training aircraft.
