£183 million boost for military helicopter training

The MOD has awarded a £183m contract to boost training services for new Rotary Wing pilots, being delivered by Ascent at RAF Shawbury. The contract includes four new Airbus H145 helicopters, a state-of-the-art simulator and infrastructure improvements, and support in attracting and training increased helicopter demand from the frontline. The new helicopters and simulator will enable students to learn to fly a range of missions; as well as practice winching tasks and rear crew activities.

Tim James, MD is pictured at a contract signing ceremony with Commodore Tom Manson, DE&S.
